Position: Mainframe Tester

Spruce InfoTech, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Mainframe Tester to join our team. This is a contract-to-hire role with a multinational company. As a Mainframe Tester, you will be responsible for conducting mainframe testing activities, working independently in an agile environment. You should have strong experience in mainframe testing, along with expertise in Cobol, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and knowledge of the payment domain, specifically cards and payments.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct mainframe testing activities, ensuring the quality and functionality of software systems.
• Work independently in an agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams as necessary.
• Perform mainframe testing using Cobol, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and other relevant technologies.
• Apply your knowledge of the payment domain, specifically cards and payments, to ensure accurate and reliable testing.
• Create and execute test cases, test plans, and test scripts based on project requirements.
• Identify and document defects and issues, working with the development team for resolution.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide testing support.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in mainframe testing.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6+ years of experience in mainframe testing.
• Strong expertise in Cobol, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and other mainframe technologies.
• Experience in the payment domain, specifically cards and payments.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in an agile environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
