Position: Penetration Testing Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Job Summary: As a Penetration Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing the security of various systems and applications through rigorous testing and analysis. Your primary focus will be on conducting penetration tests on mobile platforms, including iOS and Android. Additionally, you should have expertise in at least one of the following domains: Hosted (Web, API), Thick Client, Embedded, or IoT. This is a challenging role that requires strong technical skills, a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, and the ability to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform penetration testing on mobile applications (iOS and Android) to identify vulnerabilities and potential security risks.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of various systems and applications within the designated domains (Hosted, Thick Client, Embedded, or IoT).
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans and methodologies to ensure thorough testing coverage.
  • Identify, analyze, and exploit security vulnerabilities to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security controls.
  • Document and communicate findings, including detailed reports on vulnerabilities, risks, and recommended mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators, to ensure the implementation of recommended security measures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, tools, and techniques to continuously enhance penetration testing methodologies.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members, offering mentorship and knowledge sharing opportunities.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Penetration Testing or related cybersecurity roles.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in mobile application penetration testing, particularly on iOS and Android platforms.
  • Expertise in at least one of the following domains: Hosted (Web, API), Thick Client, Embedded, or IoT.
  • Proficiency in using relevant tools and frameworks for penetration testing, such as Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp Suite, or similar.
  • Familiarity with common security vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques, including OWASP Top 10.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols, web technologies, and operating systems.
  • Certifications such as OSCP, OSCE, CISSP, or relevant certifications in penetration testing are highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience working in a hybrid work mode (combination of remote and on-site) is a plus.
