Position: ETL Testing

Location: PAN India (No remote opportunities)

Greetings from TCS! We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our team in the role of ETL Testing. As an ETL Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of our data warehouse and data integration processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to review data models, create test plans, execute test cases, and validate data using SQL queries. If you have a strong understanding of dimensional modeling, ETL concepts, and experience with ETL tools such as Informatica or DataStage, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

1. Gain knowledge of dimensional modeling and data warehouse concepts, including different schemas such as star schemas, snowflakes, dimensions, and facts.
2. Familiarize yourself with basic ETL concepts and demonstrate proficiency in at least one ETL tool for testing purposes, such as Informatica or DataStage.
3. Review data models, data mappings, and architectural documentation to create and execute effective System Integration Testing (SIT) test plans and test cases.
4. Create SIT test cases and test data, and perform test execution to validate the accuracy and completeness of data transformations.
5. Write SQL queries to extract data for test case data comparison and other validation purposes.
6. Validate data integrity by running queries in the database, using mapping documents to compare the results against expected outcomes.
7. Analyze and troubleshoot erroneous results, identifying the root cause of defects and logging them in HP Quality Center/ALM/JIRA/ADO.
8. Collaborate closely with the development team, including business analysts, developers, and other testers, to ensure timely and effective testing efforts.
9. Ensure all deliverables, including overall test strategy, test plan, and test cases, receive appropriate sign-offs and meet governance requirements.
10. Take ownership of the quality of your work and that of the entire development team.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 5-6 years of experience in ETL testing.
2. Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling and data warehouse concepts.
3. Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage, or similar.
4. Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data extraction, comparison, and validation.
5. Familiarity with defect management tools such as HP Quality Center/ALM, JIRA, or ADO.
6. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues, identifying the root cause of defects.
7. Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
8. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. Proven ability to ensure the quality of deliverables and compliance with governance requirements.
