Position: Automation Engineer

Capgemini, a leading global consulting, technology services, and digital transformation company, is conducting a virtual weekend drive to hire Automation Engineers for multiple locations including Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Chennai. We are seeking talented individuals with 4-9 years of experience to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities:

• Automation Testing: Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium with BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) approach. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases. Continuously enhance and maintain the automation test suite to improve test coverage and efficiency.
• Core Java Programming: Utilize your strong programming skills in Core Java to develop robust and maintainable test scripts. Implement object-oriented programming principles and design patterns to ensure scalable and reusable code. Debug and fix issues related to test scripts and provide technical expertise in Java programming to the team.
• API Testing: Conduct API testing to validate the functionality, performance, and security of web services. Use tools like Postman or SOAPUI to design and execute API test cases. Verify the integration and communication between different system components and ensure the smooth functioning of APIs.
• Test Framework Development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of automation test frameworks. Design and implement modular, scalable, and maintainable frameworks to support efficient test script development and execution. Identify and incorporate best practices and industry standards in test automation.
• Defect Management: Document and track defects identified during the testing process. Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of defects. Provide detailed defect reports and assist in root cause analysis.
• Test Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive test reports and documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts. Communicate test progress, results, and any potential risks to project stakeholders. Contribute to test closure activities, including test summary reports and lessons learned.

Requirements:

• Selenium with BDD: Strong hands-on experience in Selenium automation with BDD frameworks, such as Cucumber or SpecFlow. Proficiency in designing and implementing BDD test scenarios and test cases. Familiarity with Gherkin syntax and behavior-driven development principles.
• Core Java Programming: Extensive experience in Core Java programming. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, data structures, and algorithms. Proficient in writing efficient, readable, and maintainable Java code for test automation.
• API Testing: Hands-on experience in API testing using tools like Postman or SOAPUI. Knowledge of RESTful and SOAP web services. Understanding of API testing techniques, including request/response validation, data-driven testing, and performance testing.
• Test Methodologies and Tools: Good understanding of software testing methodologies, best practices, and tools. Familiarity with Agile or DevOps practices. Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
