Position: QA Associate

Location: Chennai

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated QA Associate to join our Quality Assurance team in Chennai.

Job Description: As a QA Associate at TransUnion, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our enterprise applications through comprehensive testing and automation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design test cases, develop automation scripts, and manage defects. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes and assist in the maintenance of our test environments.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct end-to-end testing activities, including requirements gathering, test design, test development, and test execution.
  2. Develop and execute test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios to validate the functionality and performance of enterprise applications.
  3. Design and implement automation test frameworks and scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  4. Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve defects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.
  5. Perform system administration tasks on Linux/Unix systems, including shell scripting and basic system maintenance.
  6. Utilize tools like Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
  7. Conduct web service testing using HTTP, SOAP/REST, JSON, and XML technologies.
  8. Perform database testing and write SQL queries to verify data integrity and consistency.
  9. Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.
  10. Maintain test environments, ensuring their availability and readiness for testing activities.
  11. Document test plans, test cases, and test results, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
  12. Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance overall quality and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  1. 1-3 years of experience in all phases of the testing life cycle, including requirements gathering, test design, and test development.
  2. Hands-on experience in developing complex enterprise applications, including automation test development and defect management.
  3. Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, including shell scripting and basic system administration.
  4. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and automation frameworks.
  5. Familiarity with web service concepts, including HTTP, SOAP/REST, and related technologies like JSON and XML.
  6. Experience in database testing, middleware/backend testing, and writing SQL queries.
  7. Knowledge of Ansible or similar infrastructure automation tools is a plus.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  10. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  11. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
