Position: Network Protocol Tester
Location: Bangalore
Responsibilities:
- Conduct manual testing activities for network protocol testing, including network IP configuration protocols such as IPv4, IPv6, DHCP, bootP, DNS, Routers, Switches, and FTP.
- Perform test planning and manual test execution for various pillars like network security, IP configuration, naming services, network discovery, network power management, wireless network security, and Wi-Fi Direct.
- Develop and update test cases based on the release scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and project managers, to understand requirements and ensure effective testing.
- Execute test cases and analyze results to identify defects, issues, and areas for improvement.
- Document and track defects using a bug tracking system, working closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
- Stay updated with the latest network protocols, configurations, and testing methodologies to enhance testing processes.
- Collaborate with the development team to reproduce and investigate reported defects, providing detailed information and supporting materials.
- Contribute to test development activities, including test case design, test script development, and test environment setup.
- Provide clear and concise reports on test execution status, defect analysis, and overall quality metrics.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Network Protocol Tester or in a similar role.
- Strong expertise in manual testing, particularly in network protocol testing.
- Deep understanding of network IP configuration protocols, including IPv4, IPv6, DHCP, bootP, DNS, Routers, Switches, and FTP.
- Experience in test planning, test execution, and test case development for network protocols and configurations.
- Knowledge of network security, naming services, network discovery, network power management, wireless network security, and Wi-Fi Direct.
- Solid understanding of test development and update activities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is mandatory.
