Position: QA Lead

Location: Chennai

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced QA Lead to join our team in Chennai. As a QA Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products, with a focus on mobile devices, smart TVs, and embedded products in the consumer electronics space. You will be responsible for hands-on testing, cross-browser platform testing, test script development using Selenium/Appium, and working with network proxy tools. If you have a strong background in OTT media testing, solid debugging skills, and a drive for continuous improvement, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hands-on testing of mobile devices, smart TVs, and embedded products in the consumer electronics space, including connected devices like Chromecast and Fire TV.
  • Perform cross-browser platform testing to ensure compatibility and functionality across various web browsers.
  • Develop test scripts using Selenium/Appium for modules that require manual testing and perform script maintenance as needed.
  • Utilize network proxy tools such as Charles, Fiddler, and Web Developer tools to analyze and modify network requests.
  • Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of streaming protocols (DASH, HLS) and effectively test live streaming, video-on-demand (VOD), and digital video recording (DVR) streaming functionalities.
  • Apply solid debugging skills to identify the root cause of issues and collaborate with the development team to implement appropriate solutions.
  • Possess intermediate knowledge of CI/CD tools and processes, leveraging them to enhance the testing and delivery workflow.
  • Take ownership of the quality assurance process, ensuring that all testing activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for improving the quality of work, suggesting and implementing innovative testing approaches and methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and support, where team members are encouraged to speak up and focus on impactful contributions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience in software testing, with a specific focus on mobile devices, smart TVs, or embedded products in the consumer electronics space.
  • Hands-on experience in testing connected devices like Chromecast, Fire TV, etc.
  • Strong proficiency in cross-browser platform testing to ensure compatibility and functionality across various web browsers.
  • Experience in developing test scripts using Selenium/Appium and maintaining them as needed.
  • Familiarity with network proxy tools such as Charles, Fiddler, and Web Developer tools, and the ability to read and modify network requests.
  • Intermediate knowledge of streaming protocols (DASH, HLS) and experience in testing live streaming, VOD, and DVR streaming functionalities.
  • Solid debugging skills, with the ability to identify the root cause of issues and collaborate effectively with the development team.
  • Intermediate knowledge of CI/CD tools and processes is a plus.
  • A drive for continuous improvement and a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A self-motivated and proactive mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
