Position: Manual Test Engineer

Location: Mumbai, Navi Mumbai

Job Description:

We are urgently hiring a Manual Test Engineer for a leading IT company based in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. As a Manual Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications. You will be responsible for managing testing processes, tracking test results, and reporting defects. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of websites, perform backend testing, and validate data integrity. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and experience with testing methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Use JIRA to manage testing activities, track test results for each build, and report defects detected during testing.
2. Manage departmental inventory and troubleshoot issues related to testing, reporting, and inventory.
3. Conduct regression testing, UAT testing, and update testing reports as assigned by the manager.
4. Contribute to the development of websites using HTML coding.
5. Design and develop front-end components using JSP and HTML.
6. Communicate testing results throughout the SDLC to the appropriate stakeholders.
7. Investigate defects and use JIRA for logging, tracking, and reporting bugs in the application.
8. Experience working with WebServices using SOAPUI tools to validate XML requests and responses using different methods.
9. Create forms in HTML5, AJAX, and JavaScript to collect and validate user data.
10. Test XML files and ensure data parsing and loading to staging tables.
11. Perform backend testing of the database by writing SQL queries to test the integrity of the application.
12. Perform data validation on flat files generated in a UNIX environment using UNIX commands as necessary.
13. Script test cases using BPT components in QTP and execute them in the test lab of ALM.
14. Review test cases in Excel with the technical lead, BSA, and UAT resources, and obtain sign-off before execution.

Requirements:

1. 1-4 years of experience as a Manual Test Engineer.
2. Strong knowledge and experience in using JIRA for test management and defect tracking.
3. Proficiency in HTML coding and designing front-end components using JSP and HTML.
4. Familiarity with SDLC and testing methodologies.
5. Experience with WebServices and SOAPUI for XML validation.
6. Knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, and HTML5 for form creation and data validation.
7. Proficient in writing SQL queries for database testing.
8. Experience with UNIX commands for data validation in a UNIX environment.
9. Familiarity with BPT components in QTP for test script creation.
10. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
11. Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
12. Graduation in a relevant field.
