Position: Junior QA Engineer (Manual and API Testing)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct manual testing of software applications to identify defects, usability issues, and other quality-related concerns.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to verify software functionality and performance.
• Perform exploratory testing to uncover hidden defects and improve the overall user experience.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure thorough understanding of software requirements and specifications.
• Work closely with product managers and designers to clarify requirements and define acceptance criteria for testing.
• Perform regression testing to ensure that new features and enhancements do not introduce unintended side effects.
• Collaborate with the automation team to identify areas where automated testing can be implemented effectively.
• Develop and maintain test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
• Participate in defect tracking and resolution processes, ensuring that issues are properly documented, tracked, and resolved.
• Conduct API testing to validate the functionality, reliability, and performance of our APIs.
• Collaborate with backend developers to understand API specifications and identify potential issues.
• Monitor and analyze test results, identifying trends and patterns to improve overall testing effectiveness and efficiency.
• Provide timely and accurate status updates on testing progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders.
• Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives, including the refinement of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in the field of quality assurance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in manual testing of software applications, preferably in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience with API testing, including the ability to construct API requests, validate responses, and identify potential issues.
• Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, JUnit, Postman, or similar.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, to assist in test automation efforts.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking ownership of assigned tasks and delivering results within tight deadlines.
• Passion for quality and continuous improvement, with a proactive mindset towards identifying and resolving issues.
• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, is a plus.
