Position: Game Tester

Location: Gurgaon, India

Job Responsibilities:

• Test and evaluate games developed by the company across various platforms, including PC, consoles, and mobile devices.
• Identify, document, and report defects, bugs, and gameplay issues in a clear and concise manner using bug tracking systems or other designated tools.
• Conduct thorough functional, performance, compatibility, and regression testing to ensure the overall quality of the games.
• Follow test plans and test cases to execute testing activities and verify the accuracy of implemented features and functionalities.
• Collaborate with game designers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand game requirements, provide feedback, and suggest improvements.
• Conduct exploratory testing to uncover hidden issues and ensure a seamless gaming experience for end-users.
• Participate in the creation and maintenance of test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and gaming platforms to ensure efficient and effective testing practices.
• Assist in the troubleshooting and diagnosis of technical issues, working closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
• Conduct multiplayer and network testing to identify and address potential connectivity issues and ensure smooth gameplay experiences.
• Perform compatibility testing across different hardware, software, and operating systems to ensure optimal performance across a range of platforms.
• Provide clear and detailed feedback to the development team on gameplay, user interface, and overall user experience.
• Collaborate with localization teams to verify the accuracy of translated content and ensure consistency across different languages.
• Participate in the evaluation and improvement of the game testing process, suggesting best practices and efficient testing methodologies.
• Adhere to project timelines, milestones, and quality goals to ensure timely delivery of high-quality games.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Game Tester or Quality Assurance Tester, with 1-3 years of experience in testing games.
• Strong passion for gaming and a good understanding of different game genres, mechanics, and industry trends.
• Excellent knowledge of testing methodologies, processes, and best practices specific to game testing.
• Familiarity with bug tracking systems and experience in reporting and tracking defects through their lifecycle.
• Solid understanding of gaming platforms, including PC, consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch), and mobile devices (iOS, Android).
• Proficient in using various testing tools and software, such as debuggers, performance monitoring tools, and automated testing frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, isolate, and reproduce game issues effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise bug reports and feedback to the development team.
• Detail-oriented approach and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with game development processes, game engines, and scripting languages (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) will be a plus.
• Adept at multitasking and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
• ISTQB or any other relevant certification in game testing or quality assurance will be an advantage.
