Role Overview: As a QA Engineer at The Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products and services. You will be responsible for performing manual and automation testing, including API testing, to identify defects, verify functionality, and enhance the overall user experience. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and fellow QA professionals, to create and execute test plans, test cases, and validate software functionalities. Your expertise in manual and automation testing, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities will be crucial in delivering high-quality software solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Test Planning: Collaborate with the project team to understand product requirements, contribute to the creation of detailed test plans, and define test objectives and strategies.
  2. Manual Testing: Develop and execute comprehensive manual test cases based on product specifications, functional requirements, and design documents to ensure thorough test coverage.
  3. Automation Testing: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard automation tools to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  4. API Testing: Perform API testing to validate the functionality and integration of various application components, ensuring seamless data exchange.
  5. Test Execution: Execute manual and automated test cases, conduct regression testing, and identify defects, adhering to defined test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
  6. Defect Management: Document and track defects using the designated bug tracking system, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution and verification.
  7. Test Documentation: Maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test data, and test results, to ensure traceability and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  8. Test Reporting: Generate and communicate test progress reports, including test results, test coverage, and quality metrics, to project stakeholders and management.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, test automation, and best practices implementation to enhance the overall testing process and product quality.
  10. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of quality, contribute to the overall improvement of the development lifecycle, and support a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a QA Engineer with 2 to 8 years of hands-on testing experience.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in manual testing and test case design.
  • Experience in automation testing using industry-standard tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Familiarity with API testing and understanding of API protocols and data formats.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
