Position: Software Engineer (QA)

Job Summary: Digicert Inc. is seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer (QA) to join our team in Bengaluru. As a Software Engineer (QA), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through comprehensive testing and quality assurance practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, design test strategies, develop test plans, execute test cases, and report defects. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about quality assurance and have a strong background in software testing.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and design effective test strategies.
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Execute test cases and record test results using appropriate test management tools.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using defect tracking systems, and verify fixes.
- Conduct functional, integration, system, and regression testing to ensure the overall quality of software releases.
- Participate in test automation efforts, including developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce and troubleshoot issues, and provide detailed bug reports.
- Perform root cause analysis of defects and work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
- Provide accurate and timely status reports on test progress, product quality, and any potential risks.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in software testing.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the QA team, providing technical expertise and support.
- Contribute to the improvement of the overall software development lifecycle and quality assurance practices.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer (QA) or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience in testing web-based applications, including functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
- Proficiency in test management tools and defect tracking systems.
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C#, or Python.
- Solid understanding of database concepts and experience in database testing.
- Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
