Position: QA Test Engineer

Location: Trivandrum

Skywalk Global is a leading technology company specializing in software solutions for various industries. We are currently seeking talented and driven individuals to join our team as QA Test Engineers. This position is based in our Trivandrum office located in Technopark. As a QA Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products.

Responsibilities:

  • Testing Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of experience in software testing. You will be responsible for designing and executing test cases, identifying defects, and verifying fixes to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • ETL Testing: Strong knowledge and experience in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) testing is required. You should have a good understanding of data extraction, data transformation, and data loading processes. Experience with database testing and SQL queries is also essential.
  • API Testing: Proficiency in API testing is necessary, including experience with SOAP, Postman, and MicroServices. You will be responsible for testing the functionality, performance, and security of APIs.
  • Test Data Preparation: Familiarity with identification and test data preparation techniques is important. You should be able to create and manage test data sets effectively to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Back-end/ETL Testing: Exposure to back-end and ETL testing is desirable. You should have experience in testing data integration, data migration, and data validation processes.
  • Data Quality Framework: Understanding data quality frameworks and working with large data sets is crucial. You will be responsible for data analysis, profiling, auditing, balancing, and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Test Automation: Proficiency in test automation frameworks such as JUnit and TestNG is beneficial. You will be involved in developing, enhancing, and maintaining automation frameworks to streamline the testing process.
  • CI/CD: Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices is preferred. Experience with tools like Jenkins or GitLab for automated build and deployment is an advantage.
  • Source Control: Working knowledge of source control systems, such as Git or SVN, is required. You should be able to effectively collaborate with the development team to manage code repositories.
  • SQL Proficiency: Strong SQL skills are necessary for writing complex queries to validate data and perform database testing. You should be comfortable working with relational databases.
  • Agile/Scrum: Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, particularly Scrum, is desirable. You should be able to participate in Agile ceremonies and work collaboratively in an Agile environment.
  • Application Troubleshooting: You should have the ability to troubleshoot and debug applications to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Experience with log analysis and root cause analysis is beneficial.
  • Test Documentation: Strong written communication skills are essential. You will be responsible for writing test plans, test cases, and other relevant documentation to ensure comprehensive test coverage and traceability.
  • Defect and Test Management: Proficiency in defect management tools and test management tools is required. You will be responsible for tracking and reporting defects, as well as managing test execution and results.
  • Immediate Joiners: Preference will be given to candidates who can join immediately or within a notice period of 30 days.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in software testing.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in ETL testing, database testing, and API testing.
  • Proficiency in SQL and ability to write complex queries.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., JUnit, TestNG) and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
