Position: QA Engineer (Manual Testing)
Job Description: As a QA Engineer (Manual Testing) at Cognologix, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications through meticulous manual testing. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze system specifications, develop and execute test plans, and identify and document defects. Your expertise in manual testing methodologies, attention to detail, and analytical mindset will be instrumental in delivering high-quality software solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze system specifications to gain a comprehensive understanding of software requirements.
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality and performance.
- Conduct thorough manual testing of web and mobile applications to identify defects and ensure software quality.
- Document and track defects using defect tracking tools, ensuring their resolution and performing regression testing as necessary.
- Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of requirements and testing objectives.
- Continuously improve and enhance manual testing processes and methodologies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Communicate test results and issues effectively to project teams and stakeholders, providing clear and concise reports.
- Participate in test case reviews and provide feedback to enhance test coverage and quality.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in manual testing and quality assurance.
- Work collaboratively in an Agile development environment, actively participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a QA Engineer or similar role, with a focus on manual testing.
- Strong understanding of manual testing methodologies, concepts, and best practices.
- Proficiency in creating and executing detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Solid knowledge of defect tracking tools and processes for tracking and managing software defects.
- Experience in testing web and mobile applications across different platforms and devices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
