As a Principal QA Engineer at People Impact, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our client’s software products. You will be responsible for leading the testing efforts, designing and implementing test strategies, and ensuring that the software meets high-quality standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Test Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to design test strategies, define test objectives, and plan test efforts for complex software applications.
- Test Execution: Lead and execute functional and automation testing, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and adherence to quality standards.
- Backend Application Testing: Apply your extensive experience in testing backend applications to validate functionalities and ensure seamless data exchange.
- Test Automation: Utilize your expertise in automation testing to design and develop automated test scripts using Python, Jenkins, and GIT.
- Defect Management: Document and track defects using defect tracking tools, and work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
- Performance Testing: Lead performance testing efforts and analyze performance results to optimize software performance.
- Test Reporting: Generate comprehensive test reports, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
- Quality Assurance: Champion the culture of quality within the organization, promoting best practices and ensuring adherence to QA standards.
- Test Documentation: Maintain detailed and organized test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on backend application testing.
- Expertise in Python for automation testing and test script development.
- Strong understanding of functional testing methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with test automation tools like Jenkins and GIT.
- Proven experience in testing backend applications to validate data exchange and system integrations.
- Sound knowledge of test planning, execution, and defect management processes.
- Proficiency in performance testing, analyzing performance results, and optimizing software performance.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey test results and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of QA engineers.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and working in Agile development environments.
