Position: Manual Tester

Location: Mumbai, India

Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual testing of software applications to ensure functionality, usability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to understand requirements and define testing objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing, to identify and report defects and issues.
  • Document test results, defects, and testing activities using appropriate tools and methodologies.
  • Investigate and analyze reported defects, working closely with the development team to reproduce and resolve issues.
  • Provide regular status updates on testing progress and communicate any potential risks or challenges to the project team.
  • Participate in test case reviews, walkthroughs, and other team meetings to ensure alignment and adherence to quality standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest testing tools, techniques, and industry best practices to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the automation testing team to identify areas where automated testing can be implemented.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Manual Tester, preferably in a software development or IT company, with a minimum of 1-6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of manual testing methodologies, test case development, and defect tracking.
  • Proficiency in using testing tools and frameworks such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
  • Familiarity with various testing types and techniques, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC) processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot software defects.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meticulously follow test plans and test cases.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate testing results and issues.
  • Self-motivated and proactive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
