Position: Hadoop Testing

Location: PANIndia / Chennai / Bangalore / Bengaluru / Hyderabad / Pune / Mumbai

Notice Period: 0 to 60 days

CGI INDIA, a global IT and business consulting services company, is currently seeking talented professionals to join our team. We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Hadoop Testing professional to contribute to our prestigious projects. As a Hadoop Testing expert, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Hadoop-based solutions. This position offers the flexibility to work in various locations across PANIndia, including Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, and Mumbai. Responsibilities:

1. Conduct end-to-end testing of Hadoop-based applications, including data ingestion, data processing, and data analytics.
2. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure the functionality and performance of Hadoop solutions.
3. Perform functional, integration, and regression testing of Hadoop components, ensuring compliance with business requirements and quality standards.
4. Identify, analyze, and document software defects and issues, working closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and business analysts, to understand requirements and validate the accuracy of data transformations and analytics.
6. Utilize Hadoop ecosystem tools, such as Hive, Spark, Sqoop, and Pig, to validate data integrity, processing, and transformation.
7. Design and implement data validation and verification strategies, ensuring data quality and consistency.
8. Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts for efficient and effective testing of Hadoop applications.
9. Perform performance testing and optimization of Hadoop applications, identifying bottlenecks and recommending improvements.
10. Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to Hadoop and big data testing.
11. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, sharing knowledge and expertise with the testing community within CGI INDIA.
12. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to provide regular updates on testing progress, issues, and risks.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 4+ years of experience in Hadoop testing, with a strong understanding of Hadoop architecture and components.
3. Proven experience in designing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Hadoop applications.
4. In-depth knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem tools and technologies, such as Hive, Spark, Sqoop, Pig, and HBase.
5. Experience in data validation, verification, and quality assurance in a Hadoop environment.
6. Strong understanding of SQL and database concepts, with the ability to write complex queries for data validation.
7. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and working in Agile teams.
8. Proficient in using testing tools and frameworks, such as JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
9. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and document software defects and issues.
10. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
11. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
12. Flexibility to work in various locations across PANIndia, including Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, and Mumbai.
13. Immediate to 60-day notice period is desirable.
