Job Description: We are seeking an experienced ETL Tester to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of our data integration processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL testing, Unix, and SQL, along with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities:

  1. ETL Testing: Conduct end-to-end testing of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to verify data accuracy and integrity.
  2. SQL Queries: Create and execute SQL queries to validate data transformations and ensure data consistency.
  3. Unix Knowledge: Utilize Unix commands and scripting to perform data validation and troubleshooting tasks.
  4. Test Planning: Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project requirements and business logic.
  5. Test Execution: Execute test cases, document test results, and identify and report defects or issues.
  6. Data Validation: Verify data completeness, correctness, and consistency across various data sources and targets.
  7. Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure that changes or enhancements to ETL processes do not introduce defects.
  8. Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing to assess the efficiency and scalability of ETL processes.
  9. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and business analysts, to understand requirements and resolve issues.
  10. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and defects.
  11. Troubleshooting: Investigate and troubleshoot data-related issues and work proactively to prevent future problems.
  12. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and technologies in ETL testing and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an ETL Tester with 4.5 – 6.5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL concepts and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data validation and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Unix commands and scripting.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • ISTQB certification (optional but a plus).
