Position: ETL Tester

Job Summary: Appzlogic is currently seeking an experienced ETL Tester to join our team. As an ETL Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our data extraction, transformation, and loading processes. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, designing and executing test cases, identifying defects, and ensuring the smooth functioning of ETL operations. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and data engineers to understand ETL requirements and specifications.
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for ETL processes.
• Conduct functional, integration, and regression testing to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data.
• Perform data validation and verification to ensure data consistency and conformity with business rules.
• Identify, document, and track defects and issues, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis for defects, and provide suggestions for process improvements and optimization.
• Develop and maintain test data sets and test environments to simulate real-world scenarios.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize testing requirements and ensure effective test coverage.
• Execute performance and scalability testing to ensure optimal ETL performance.
• Prepare and present test status reports, including test coverage, defects, and overall quality metrics, to project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ETL Testing or a related field.
• Solid understanding of ETL concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
• Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases, such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Proficiency in ETL testing tools like Informatica, IBM DataStage, or Talend.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
• Experience in testing data integration processes, data mapping, and transformations.
• Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python or Shell scripting, for test automation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
