Job Description:

We are in search of a highly motivated and experienced BI/ETL QA (Business Intelligence/Extract, Transform, Load Quality Assurance) professional to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in SQL, ETL testing, and have hands-on experience with Snowflake and DBT. Additionally, experience with testing BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, Astrato, or similar tools is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. ETL Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing of ETL processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Collaborate with ETL developers and data engineers to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  2. SQL Expertise: Utilize strong SQL skills to write complex queries for data validation, transformation testing, and defect identification.
  3. BI Tool Testing: Perform thorough testing of BI dashboards and reports developed on tools like Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, Astrato, or others. Verify data accuracy and adherence to business requirements.
  4. Data Validation: Develop and execute test cases and test scripts to validate data transformations and ensure that the data meets business requirements.
  5. Regression Testing: Conduct regression testing to verify that ETL processes and BI reports remain stable and accurate after system changes or updates.
  6. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts. Track and report defects using appropriate testing tools.
  7. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and developers, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality data and BI solutions.
  8. Performance Testing: Perform performance testing of ETL processes to identify bottlenecks and optimize data loading and transformation.
  9. Automation: Explore opportunities for test automation and contribute to the development of automated testing frameworks.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in BI and ETL testing. Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in BI/ETL testing.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL testing on platforms like Snowflake and DBT.
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, Astrato, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to convey testing results and issues clearly.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts is a plus.
