Job Description: As a Java SDET Engineer at HCLTech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through the development and implementation of robust test automation frameworks. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and execute automated test scripts, with a focus on Core Java, Selenium, Cucumber, BDD, and REST API/Assured. Your expertise in automation testing tools and strong understanding of testing methodologies will be instrumental in delivering cutting-edge solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with product development and testing teams to understand project requirements and identify test scenarios.
  2. Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Core Java, Selenium, Cucumber, BDD, and REST API/Assured.
  3. Ensure test scripts are written at an intermediate level with an emphasis on code reusability and maintainability.
  4. Contribute to the development and enhancement of test automation frameworks to improve test efficiency and effectiveness.
  5. Perform testing for both front-end and back-end applications, ensuring complete coverage of test scenarios.
  6. Verify and validate REST APIs using testing tools like REST Assured.
  7. Leverage your knowledge of the banking/finance domain to ensure that the testing meets industry-specific requirements (Good to have).
  8. Interact with clients/customers to understand their testing needs and provide regular updates on project progress (Added Advantage).
  9. Collaborate with other SDET Engineers and testers to ensure seamless integration of automated tests into the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
  10. Identify, record, and track defects to resolution, and assist development teams in defect root cause analysis.
  11. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in automation testing to apply best practices in your work.
  12. Showcase excellent communication and presentation skills to convey testing results and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Java SDET Engineer or in a similar role.
  2. Proficiency in Core Java, Selenium, Cucumber, BDD, and REST API/Assured.
  3. Comfortable writing code scripts at an intermediate level to support test automation efforts.
  4. Familiarity with automation testing tools and a strong understanding of testing methodologies.
  5. Good to have experience in the banking/finance domain, showcasing an understanding of domain-specific testing requirements.
  6. Added advantage if you have prior experience interacting with clients/customers and effectively managing communication.
  7. Strong knowledge of automation testing tools and techniques.
  8. Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey testing results and recommendations.
  9. A proactive team player with a strong focus on delivering quality results.
