Position: Automation Tester

Location: Pune

Are you an experienced Automation Tester with a strong background in functional and automation testing? FIS, a global leader in financial technology solutions, is seeking talented individuals to join our dynamic team in Pune. As an Automation Tester at FIS, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our financial software solutions by conducting thorough testing and leveraging your expertise in automation tools and industry-wide QA processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform hands-on functional and automation testing to validate the performance, functionality, and reliability of financial software solutions.
2. Develop and execute comprehensive test cases and test scripts based on requirements and industry best practices, ensuring effective test coverage.
3. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of industry-wide QA processes, methodologies, and testing frameworks to optimize testing efficiency and effectiveness.
4. Utilize test case management tools, such as Jira, to plan, track, and manage testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
5. Familiarity with version control tools, particularly Bitbucket, to manage and track changes in testing artifacts and automation scripts.
6. Possess in-depth knowledge of capital markets domain and financial software, along with a strong understanding of related middle and back-office processes.
7. Leverage hands-on experience in SQL and PL/SQL to create and execute SQL queries for data validation and data extraction from multiple tables using joins.
8. Utilize expertise in Java J2EE and proficiency in automation tools such as Selenium or QTP to design, develop, and maintain automated test suites.
9. Demonstrate a sound understanding of UNIX/Linux commands and scripting to facilitate testing in different environments.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to identify and resolve software defects and issues.
11. Design and execute regression testing to ensure that software updates and enhancements do not adversely affect existing functionality.
12. Analyze test results, log defects, and communicate test progress and outcomes to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
13. Continuously enhance and update testing processes, methodologies, and automation frameworks to improve overall testing efficiency and effectiveness.
14. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in software testing and automation to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in functional and automation testing, preferably within the financial domain.
3. Solid understanding of industry-wide QA processes, methodologies, and best practices.
4. Proficiency in using test case management tools, particularly Jira, to manage testing activities.
5. Familiarity with version control tools like Bitbucket to track changes in testing artifacts and automation scripts.
6. Thorough knowledge of the capital markets domain and related middle and back-office processes.
7. Hands-on experience with SQL and PL/SQL to perform data validation and extraction.
