Job Description
We are currently seeking a self-motivated, creative and talented Test Engineer who will thrive on exposing issues and improving the quality of our state of the art fixed income trading application. Test Engineers are constantly challenged to understand fixed income trading, uncover software issues in our trading platform through functional testing and to provide feedback that can help enhance our end user experience. The role will primarily focus on testing fixed income trading software, AxeTrader. We operate in an Agile development environment and strongly, looking for a Test Engineer with a passion for quality and testing software.
What will you be involved with?
- Design, develop and execute test plans and test cases based on software requirements and technical design specs
- Manually test existing and new features thoroughly before automation is developed
- Add and Update existing manual regression test suite to add new features and enhance coverage
- Responsible for testing product releases via a combination of system-level automated and manual tests
- Effectively define smoke and acceptance criteria and the scope of the full testing efforts for every release
- Actively collaborating with product, development and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and defects, especially in terms of testability
- Assist in reproducing, investigating and debugging software issues in coordination with the Development team
- Recommend product improvements, usability enhancements or corrections in coordination with Product Management team
- Collaborate with a team of testers to constantly improve and enhance each other’s skill sets and arsenal of test tools
What you bring to the table? Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years experience as a Test Engineer, working on a fixed income electronic trading system, instruments and trading life cycle
- Must understand the testing and development life cycle methodologies
- Familiarization with FIX protocol and, as a bonus, how it is used in fixed Income electronic trading
- Experience with SDLC tracking, release deployment and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, TestRail, JIRA or similar tools is preferred
- Experience writing automation tests in Python is a plus. Ability to run automation and debug failures is a must.
- Knowledge of GUI/backend automation test framework is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and commitment to continuous testing improvement
