SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position’s primary responsibility is to test IoT products and other software solutions both custom and commercial off the shelf while working for the Quality department.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible for implementing quality assurance and testing services to ensure that all information systems products and services meets the organization standards and end user requirements.
- Perform testing for online applications, mobile apps, IoT hardware and embedded devices.
- Work with product development and software engineering teams to create test plans and scenarios that ensure a high-quality product is delivered.
- Familiarity with device platform to gather device logs or PCAP traces is required.
- Analyze the test results and report the bug as per organization standards.
- Assist in bug triaging process and provide insightful feedback by isolating failures between mobile, backend, and device as likely cause in a full-stack system.
- Ability to come up to speed quick and perform testing with minimal supervision
- Responsible for entire projects or functions having modest scope/impact or portions of projects having considerable scope/impact.
- Identify key barriers/ core problems and apply problem-solving skills in order to address complex situations.
- Knowledge of test approaches and execute acceptance, integration, installation, and system testing.
- Drive to become more adaptable in quality assurance through test automation, and Continuous Testing practices is a PLUS
Requirements
- The successful candidate must be highly motivated, quality conscious with a strong attention to detail, and exhibit a history of achievement within their career to date
- Minimum 5+ years QA experience with solid understanding and experience in SQA methodologies, techniques, and approaches.
- One to two years experience in mobile app with a preference for various versions of IOS and Android.
- Practical knowledge in API testing and API test automation using tools such as SOAP UI, POSTMAN or similar a PLUS
- Awareness in setup and collection of different product logs using cypress programmer or similar.
- At least 2 years of experience in testing and debugging connected IoT products a PLUS
- Solid understanding of relational DB and non-relational DB and ability to work with them.
- Strong experience with bug tracking tools in a Git-flow model.
- Knowledge in working of different electronic communications methods such as, BLE, Wi-Fi, Thread, Zigbee, USB, serial port/UART, NFC and RFID.
- Understanding of different IoT communication protocols such as MQTT, DTLS/TLS, and REST-ful API patterns for edge systems.
- Proven experience in process improvement and process implementation.
- Experience along with a strong passion for Agile / Scrum especially creation and interpretation of Definition of Done and Acceptance Criteria for user stories
- Proven experience with agile testing methodologies, such as Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Specification by Example (SBE) using Gherkin
- Good knowledge of source control tools, such as GIT.
- Ability to read specifications and produce test plans
- Capable of multi-tasking and ability to manage small and medium projects
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with handling and examining circuit boards with DMM and Oscilloscope as well as minor soldering is a PLUS
