Job Title: SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) – Microsoft BI & Power BI

Key Responsibilities: As an SDET specializing in Microsoft BI & Power BI, you will be responsible for:

1. Microsoft BI Testing: Conducting comprehensive testing of Microsoft BI solutions, including SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services), and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services). Validate data integration, analysis, and reporting components for accuracy and functionality.
2. Power BI Testing: Testing Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets to ensure they meet business requirements, are visually appealing, and provide accurate insights.
3. Automation (Added Advantage): Developing and executing test automation scripts to accelerate testing processes and ensure consistent results. Automation experience with tools like Selenium, Appium, or similar is a plus.
4. SQL Proficiency: Writing and executing complex SQL statements to validate data transformations, calculations, and stored procedures. Proficiency in SQL is essential for this role.
5. ETL Testing: Hands-on experience testing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) jobs to verify data extraction, transformation, and loading processes. Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the ETL pipeline.
6. Business Logic Testing: Validate business rules, transformation logic, and calculations within the BI and ETL processes.
7. Documentation: Documenting test cases, test plans, and test results to facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the team.

Qualifications: To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. 4+ years of solid experience in Microsoft Business Intelligence & Power BI testing.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft BI tools, including SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS.
4. Hands-on experience with Power BI, including report and dashboard testing.
5. Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
6. Experience in test automation is an added advantage.
7. Familiarity with data modeling concepts and data warehousing principles.
8. Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
