Position: Senior Software Tester

Location: Kochi, Hybrid.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Software Tester, your responsibilities will include:

  • Software Testing Expertise: Utilize your extensive experience in foundational software testing skills, including product requirements analysis, test planning, manual and automated test case creation, test execution, objective evidence capturing, test results reporting, and documentation.
  • Industry Standards and Compliance: Apply your familiarity with industry standards such as the V design model, IEC 62304, or similar standards to ensure compliance in the testing process. Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks associated with software development and testing.
  • Test Management Tools: Set up and utilize test management tools such as Azure DevOps and Jira to effectively plan, track, and manage testing activities. Ensure traceability of requirements, test cases, and defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Automated Testing: Demonstrate expertise in automated testing skills, covering web and desktop user interfaces, back-end components, databases, services and APIs, software deployment, and data migration. Leverage automation tools such as SmartBear, TestComplete, or Ranorex to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Hardware-Software Integration: Test products that require software communication with hardware via COM and USB ports, as well as industrial networks. Ensure seamless integration and compatibility between software and hardware components.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Apply your familiarity with risk identification, analysis, and mitigation techniques to identify potential risks in the software development and testing process. Implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks and ensure product quality.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and project managers. Communicate testing progress, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders and team members.

Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in software testing, preferably in developing/testing software for device-based products.
  • Industry Standards: Familiarity with industry standards such as the V design model, IEC 62304, or similar standards.
  • Test Management Tools: Experience in setting up and using test management tools such as Azure DevOps and Jira.
  • Automated Testing: Strong experience in both manual and automated testing, including web and desktop user interfaces, back-end components, databases, services and APIs, software deployment, and data migration.
  • Hardware-Software Integration: Experience in testing products that require software communication with hardware via COM and USB ports, as well as industrial networks.
  • Automation Tools: Familiarity with testing automation tools such as SmartBear, TestComplete, or Ranorex.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks. Attention to detail in analyzing product requirements and designing test cases.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
