Position: Senior QA Engineer
Round The Clock Technologies (RTCTek) is excited to invite talented individuals to join our team as a Senior QA Engineer. As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. We are looking for candidates with strong expertise in testing Network-Attached Storage (NAS) systems and related technologies. If you have excellent communication skills, hands-on experience in testing NAS, and possess in-depth knowledge of protocols and features such as NFS, UFA, locking, security, and replication, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and support engineers, to understand product requirements and translate them into comprehensive test cases.
- Perform hands-on testing of NAS systems, with a focus on protocols such as NFSv3, NFSv4.x, Unix File Attributes (UFA), and SMB/CIFS (SAMBA).
- Utilize your expertise in translating RFCs, feature/functional specifications, and customer requirements into test cases.
- Ensure the reliability and security of NAS systems by conducting white box testing, analyzing wire-traces, and reading packet captures.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of locking mechanisms, Access Control Lists (ACLs)/Access Control Entries (ACEs), and security features like Kerberos.
- Identify and troubleshoot performance issues using standard tools, conducting root cause analysis, and proposing effective solutions.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of snapshot, replication, backup, and recovery technologies in the context of NAS systems.
- Handle customer escalations by reproducing and resolving complex issues, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in NAS technologies and related protocols.
Requirements:
- Strong verbal communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
- 4-6 years of hands-on experience in testing NAS systems.
- Proficiency in testing protocols such as NFSv3, NFSv4.x, Unix File Attributes (UFA), and SMB/CIFS (SAMBA).
- Ability to translate RFCs, feature/functional specifications, and customer requirements into comprehensive test cases.
- Solid understanding of locking mechanisms, ACLs/ACEs, and security features like Kerberos.
- Experience in identifying and troubleshooting performance issues using standard tools and performing root cause analysis.
- Background in white box testing, including wire-traces and reading packet captures.
- Expertise in snapshot, replication, backup, and recovery technologies.
- Previous experience in handling customer escalations and resolving complex issues.
- Familiarity with VMware virtualization technology.
