Position: Senior Engineer QA
Location: Gurgaon
Position Overview: PlaceElements is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer QA to join our team in Gurgaon. As a Senior Engineer QA, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software and embedded systems through manual and automation testing. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, develop and execute test plans, and contribute to the overall improvement of our testing processes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual and automation testing, along with expertise in embedded systems and protocols such as I2C, SPI, or UART.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive manual and automation test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software and embedded systems.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to identify defects and ensure the software meets quality standards.
- Collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
- Execute and analyze test results, identify defects, and report issues to the development team for resolution.
- Conduct thorough debugging and troubleshooting of software and embedded systems using appropriate tools.
- Collaborate with the development team to review and provide feedback on functional and technical specifications.
- Participate in test planning activities, including defining test objectives, strategies, and schedules.
- Contribute to the improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and tools.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging industry trends, tools, and technologies in software testing and embedded systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 to 12 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on manual and automation testing.
- Strong expertise in manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Proven experience in automation testing using industry-standard tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Solid understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience with embedded systems and protocols such as I2C, SPI, or UART.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or C# for test automation.
- Proficiency in using defect tracking and test management tools, such as Jira, Bugzilla, or TestRail.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, is preferred.
- ISTQB certification or similar qualifications are a plus.
