Position: Security Test Engineer

Location: Bellandur, Bangalore (Work from Office)

Job Summary: As a Security Test Engineer at TEKsystems, you will be responsible for conducting security testing activities, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, to identify and address potential security risks. You will utilize various security testing tools and techniques to assess the security posture of software applications and systems. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in security testing and a deep understanding of network security vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform security testing activities, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, on software applications and systems.
  • Utilize security testing tools such as Nessus, Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, Wireshark, OWASP ZAP, or similar tools to identify and exploit security vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct in-depth manual security testing, simulating real-world attacks to identify and validate potential vulnerabilities.
  • Analyze and interpret security assessment findings and generate detailed reports highlighting identified vulnerabilities and recommended remediation actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and project managers, to remediate identified security vulnerabilities.
  • Stay updated with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, and contribute to the improvement of security testing processes and methodologies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security testing frameworks, standards, and guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members in security testing activities.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with clients to understand their security requirements and provide recommendations for security enhancements.
  • Collaborate with other QA professionals and actively contribute to the overall QA initiatives within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in security testing, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
  • In-depth knowledge of security testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Proficiency in using security testing tools such as Nessus, Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, Wireshark, OWASP ZAP, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of network security vulnerabilities, including knowledge of OWASP Top Ten and CVEs.
  • Experience with network protocols (L2, L3, and L7) such as SMTP, HTTP, FTP, and SNMP.
  • Knowledge of various security standards and frameworks (e.g., OWASP, NIST, PCI DSS).
  • Familiarity with programming languages and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) for security testing purposes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
