Position: QA Tester Experience: 7 to 9 years

Location: Chennai

Responsibilities:

As a QA Tester, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Manual Testing:
  • Conduct manual testing activities to verify the functionality, performance, and usability of software applications.
  • Create test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios based on business requirements and design specifications.
  • Execute test cases and record test results to identify defects and ensure product quality.
  • Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  1. Automation Testing:
  • Utilize automation testing tools and frameworks to design and develop automated test scripts.
  • Execute automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Continuously enhance and maintain automation scripts for regression testing and continuous integration.
  1. Test Planning and Strategy:
  • Participate in test planning activities, including test estimation, test strategy development, and test scope definition.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify and prioritize testing objectives.
  • Contribute to the creation of comprehensive test plans and test schedules.
  1. Defect Management:
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using defect tracking tools.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify the source and impact of defects.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of defects.
  1. Test Reporting and Documentation:
  • Generate test reports to communicate test progress, test coverage, and test results.
  • Document test procedures, test data, and test environments for future reference.
  • Ensure that testing artifacts are well-organized and easily accessible.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in software testing.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance overall quality assurance practices.
  • Proactively suggest and implement process improvements for increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in manual testing, including test case creation, execution, and defect management.
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Excellent knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
  • Familiarity with agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
