Position: Manual Tester

Location: Kuala Lumpur (KL)

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Understand business requirements (BRD) and functional specifications to design and develop requirement traceability matrix and test cases.
  2. Execute manual test cases to validate software functionality, identify defects, and ensure adherence to business requirements.
  3. Collaborate with the development team and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve any issues or ambiguities.
  4. Perform functional testing to ensure the application meets the desired functionality and user experience.
  5. Identify and document defects, track their status, and participate in defect triage meetings.
  6. Conduct regression testing to ensure that defects have been fixed and new changes do not impact existing functionality.
  7. Work closely with the business analysts and subject matter experts to understand the application domain, including industry-specific knowledge such as ePOS.
  8. Ensure test coverage and completeness by reviewing test cases and identifying any gaps or missing scenarios.
  9. Participate in test strategy and test plan preparation.
  10. Collaborate with the test automation team to identify and automate repetitive and time-consuming test cases.
  11. Contribute to the improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and tools.
  12. Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing.

Requirements:

  1. 3+ years of experience as a Manual Tester.
  2. Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, testing processes, and testing tools.
  3. Ability to design and develop requirement traceability matrix and test cases based on business requirements (BRD) and functional specifications.
  4. Industry application knowledge, preferably in areas such as ePOS.
  5. Experience in functional testing, regression testing, and defect tracking.
  6. Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems.
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  9. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
