Job Description:

Alcon is looking for Manual and Automation Test Engineers to join our dynamic team responsible for Software Verification and Validation (V&V) of applications that contribute to the advancement of eye care.

As a Manual and Automation Test Engineer at Alcon, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our software applications meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and developers to verify and validate software used in ophthalmic devices and solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both manual and automated testing.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with software developers to identify and resolve software defects and issues.
  • Participate in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), with a focus on Agile/Scrum and Iterative methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA/ISO regulations for software development in the healthcare industry.
  • Perform risk analysis and contribute to the creation of comprehensive test documentation.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance product quality.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for test automation problems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure software meets user requirements.

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 1-6 years of relevant experience in software testing, including test case writing and execution for both desktop and embedded software systems.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in C#, C++, Nunit, and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
  • Proficient experience in Ranorex, a leading test automation tool.
  • Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, particularly Agile/Scrum and Iterative.
  • Basic knowledge of FDA/ISO regulations for software development in the healthcare industry.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, including the ability to read, write, understand, and communicate fluently.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
