At Tarana, you will contribute to building a cutting-edge cloud SaaS product called the Tarana Cloud Suite — a control and management application for wireless networks, scaling up to handle millions of Tarana radio devices, each generating and streaming fine-grained metrics on performance, quality, usage, etc. to the cloud.
We are looking for smart manual QA engineers who will help us verify and validate this large-scale distributed application. As part of the product QA, you will work on the product roadmap, system level feature testing and setting high benchmarks for the product quality.
This will require a broad top-down understanding of the Tarana Cloud Suite, its components (microservices, UI, databases, etc.), data and control flows between them, runtime infrastructure in the AWS cloud, and network communications with the radio devices. This also means understanding the runtime behaviour of the application, performance implications, infrastructure tuning and capacity management, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Understand the Tarana Cloud Suite architecture and gain expertise in all the components involved
- Attend feature design meetings, design comprehensive test plans, create test cases and execute tests
- Review test plans written by other team members
- Own regression test areas and ensure that the product quality is intact despite code churn
- Identify defects and own them through the resolution and verification cycle
- Ensure effective communication of project and testing status to all stakeholders
- Debug problems reported by the customers and reproduce the same in lab environments
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science or closely related disciplines is required.
- 4+ years of experience in verification of microservices-based SaaS products deployed on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP etc. would be preferable
- Experience in functional and system level testing of APIs (familiarity with REST API, JSON, XML) and Frontend (UI)
- Good understanding of QA processes and Agile methodologies
- Exposure to Linux and understanding of Docker containers, VMs etc
- Knowledge of Networking concepts like switching and routing

Candidate’s required skills:
- At least 4 years of experience in the field of testing of software products and web/mobile applications using the structured testing methodology.
- Must have API testing experience using POSTMAN or SoapUI and knowledge of swagger.
- Must have good Knowledge of CSS, HTML and XML.
- Experience in different types of Manual testing like Ad-hoc, Acceptance, API, Localization, Integration, Compatibility End-to-End testing, Functional testing.
- Agile methodology familiarity – JIRA application experience must.
- Great communication skills: an ability to find a common language with all team members.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, the ability to see the root of the problem and come up with efficient, creative, and cost-effective solutions.
- Arranging Test Environment to execute the test cases. Conducting Review Meetings. Analyzing and executing Test Cases. Defect Tracking.
- Analyze requirements from the software requirement specification document and JIRA stories.
- Good to have knowledge of testing tools like Selenium, QTP, JMeter, LoadRunner.

- Create teat scenarios and develop test scripts based on project/ user needs, specifications and product requirements
- Participate in project walkthrough, and analyse documents to understand the functional requirements
- Responsible for test estimation, creation, execution, bug logging and reporting
- Identifies test data requirements and generates required test data
- Executes Software Functional, Regression, System Integration and Smoke testing
- Prioritizes test cases taking into account business priorities and risk analysis.
