Position: Senior QA

Location: Chennai, India

Job Summary: As a Senior QA, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our web applications and mobile platforms, including Android and iPhone. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and stakeholders, to identify and resolve any quality-related issues. Your role will involve manual testing, test case development, defect tracking, and potentially automated testing. Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of agile software development methodologies are essential for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough manual testing of web applications and mobile platforms to identify bugs, defects, and usability issues.
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings to provide input from a QA perspective.
• Work closely with developers to reproduce, investigate, and resolve reported defects.
• Utilize defect tracking tools such as Azure, JIRA, AMC, and Bugzilla to log and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Contribute to the improvement of the SDLC processes and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Stay updated on emerging testing methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.
• Optional: Conduct performance/load testing using tools like JMeter, Loadrunner, or Gatling.
• Perform UI testing based on approved design guidelines and ensure consistency in user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand web fundamentals, including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, server-side programming, and databases.
• Familiarity with emulator and simulator tools like Cross browser testing, Browserstack, Testing bots, or Lambda test.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Software Testing, with a focus on web applications and mobile platforms (Android/iPhone).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of agile software development methodologies, such as Kanban or Scrum, and the role of QA within them.
• Proficiency in Manual Testing techniques and familiarity with SDLC processes.
• Working knowledge of Automated Testing is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of DevOps practices and defect tracking tools such as Azure, JIRA, AMC, and Bugzilla.
• Optional: Familiarity with performance/load testing tools like JMeter, Loadrunner, or Gatling.
• Hands-on experience in UI testing based on approved design guidelines.
• Understanding of web fundamentals, including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, server-side programming, and databases.
