Position: Senior Functional Tester

Location: Chennai

CGI is a global IT and business consulting services company that partners with organizations to transform their operations and deliver innovation at scale. We are currently seeking highly skilled and experienced Senior Functional Testers to join our dynamic team in Chennai. As a Senior Functional Tester, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our clients’ software applications. If you have a strong background in functional testing and possess expertise in mobile testing, accessibility testing, API testing, and preferably banking domain knowledge, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct functional manual testing activities to ensure the quality and usability of software applications.
  2. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project requirements and specifications.
  3. Perform mobile testing on various platforms (iOS, Android) to validate application functionality and performance.
  4. Conduct accessibility testing to ensure compliance with accessibility standards and regulations.
  5. Perform API testing to verify the integration and functionality of application interfaces.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to understand requirements and ensure accurate test coverage.
  7. Utilize industry-standard tools such as HP ALM, Jira, and Postman to manage test cases, track defects, and communicate testing progress.
  8. Identify and report software defects, track their resolution, and validate fixes.
  9. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment throughout the testing process.
  10. Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional growth.
  11. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in functional testing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 8-9 years of experience in functional testing, with a strong focus on manual testing.
  3. Proficiency in mobile testing across different platforms (iOS, Android) and familiarity with testing frameworks and tools.
  4. Experience in conducting accessibility testing to ensure compliance with WCAG guidelines.
  5. Strong knowledge and experience in API testing using tools like Postman.
  6. Preferably, experience or understanding of the banking domain (not mandatory).
  7. Proficient in using test management tools such as HP ALM and issue tracking systems like Jira.
  8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  9. Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
  10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  11. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
