Job Description:

The QA Manager will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software components and applications, particularly web-based applications. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of the testing industry and strong experience in managing test teams and project implementations. The QA Manager will be responsible for developing testing strategies, test plans, and test scripts, as well as overseeing the entire testing process, from planning to execution and reporting. The candidate should have a keen understanding of testing metrics, KPIs, and tools to drive continuous improvement in the QA process.

Responsibilities:

  1. Test Planning and Strategy:
  • Develop and document comprehensive testing strategies and test plans.
  • Estimate testing efforts and define QA reporting mechanisms.
  • Plan, process, and progress of the test phases through multiple projects.
  • Ensure test coverage across all testing phases, including SIT and UAT.
  1. Test Team Management:
  • Lead and manage the test teams, ensuring efficient and effective testing.
  • Guide the team in developing test plans, test processes, test cases/scripts, and test data.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance their testing skills and capabilities.
  1. Test Execution and Reporting:
  • Oversee test case and test script development and execution.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results and defects.
  • Analyze UAT defects and provide valuable insights for improvement.
  1. Automation and Manual Testing:
  • Possess knowledge and experience in both automation and manual testing.
  • Hands-on experience with web-based application testing using Selenium is a plus.
  1. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Coordinate with Release Manager, Business Analysts, and Delivery team to establish priorities and estimates.
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
  • Effectively communicate test status and findings to senior management.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of testing procedures and processes.
  • Create training materials and user guides to enhance operational efficiency.
  1. Domain Expertise:
  • Demonstrate domain expertise in software testing and quality assurance.
  1. Agile Environment:
  • Exposure to an Agile work environment is beneficial.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in software testing, preferably web-based applications.
  • Strong understanding of QA and testing industry best practices.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in test team management and software development or professional services.
  • Proven experience in managing full life cycle testing for complex projects.
  • Expertise in test plan development, test script creation, and QA reporting.
  • Knowledge of testing metrics, KPIs, and testing tools.
  • Familiarity with PL/SQL for querying data from databases.
  • Experience with Agile work environments is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
