Position: QA Engineer

Location: Hyderabad

OpenText’s Hyderabad team is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative software development organization. As a QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our enterprise software solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive test plans.
  • Design, develop, and execute manual test cases to identify software defects, ensuring the functionality, usability, and adherence to business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, Java, and other relevant tools, frameworks, and libraries to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing of web-based applications and enterprise software solutions.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems, and work closely with the development team to resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of issues discovered during testing and provide detailed defect reports to assist in the resolution process.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure proper test coverage, review and provide feedback on design documents, and participate in design and code reviews.
  • Continuously improve the QA process by implementing best practices, tools, and methodologies to enhance testing efficiency, reliability, and effectiveness.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, providing support and sharing knowledge to foster a culture of learning and growth within the QA team.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in software testing to enhance your skills and contribute to the improvement of the QA team’s capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a QA Engineer or similar role, with a minimum of 2-8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in manual testing techniques, test case design, test execution, and defect tracking.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks, particularly Selenium WebDriver, and proficiency in Java programming for test automation.
  • Experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins and build automation tools like Maven.
  • Sound knowledge of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with databases and ability to write basic SQL queries for data validation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, isolate, and reproduce software defects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
