Position: Manual Testing Engineer
Location: Chennai
Job Summary: ADP, a renowned company in the industry, is seeking a skilled and experienced Manual Testing Engineer to join our team in Chennai. As a Manual Testing Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will be responsible for designing and executing manual test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute manual test cases to validate software functionality and performance.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using a defect tracking tool.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product managers, to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Conduct thorough regression testing to verify the impact of software changes and ensure system stability.
- Analyze test results and provide detailed reports to stakeholders, highlighting any issues or risks.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.
- Participate in test planning, estimation, and effort allocation for different testing activities.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in manual testing methodologies and tools.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, including test case design, test execution, and defect management.
- Actively participate in team meetings and provide input on testing strategies and approaches.
- Collaborate with offshore teams, as required, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Adhere to quality standards and processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in manual testing of software applications.
- Strong knowledge of manual testing methodologies, techniques, and best practices.
- Experience in designing and executing manual test cases and test scenarios.
- Proficiency in defect tracking tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing concepts.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Knowledge of SQL and databases is a plus.
- ISTQB certification or other relevant certifications in software testing is desirable.
