Job Summary: As a Manual Tester at Cygnet Infotech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products and solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to perform comprehensive manual testing, including API testing and database testing. Additionally, your effective communication skills will enable you to interact with clients and stakeholders effectively. The position is based in Ahmedabad, and you will have the opportunity to work from our office.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the development team and project stakeholders to understand project requirements and design effective test cases and test scenarios.
  2. Conduct manual testing of software applications, ensuring the verification of functionalities, user interfaces, and database interactions.
  3. Perform API testing to validate the integration and functionality of APIs within the software.
  4. Verify the integrity and accuracy of data by conducting database testing, ensuring the proper functioning of data storage and retrieval.
  5. Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements, address queries, and provide updates on testing progress.
  6. Prepare test plans, test scripts, and test reports, documenting testing procedures and outcomes comprehensively.
  7. Report and track defects, working closely with the development team to facilitate timely resolutions.
  8. Participate in test automation initiatives and provide inputs for test automation scripts as required.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of testing activities within the software development life cycle.
  10. Conduct thorough regression testing after code changes or updates to maintain the stability and reliability of the software.
  11. Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in manual testing, API testing, and database testing, incorporating them into testing methodologies.
  12. Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  13. Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality results within scheduled deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in manual testing of software applications.
  3. Proficiency in API testing, with hands-on experience in verifying API functionalities.
  4. Strong understanding of database testing principles, including data verification and validation.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders.
  6. Detail-oriented and thorough, with the ability to identify and document defects accurately.
  7. Familiarity with bug tracking tools and test management systems.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  9. Knowledge of test automation tools and scripting languages would be a plus.
  10. Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
