Position: Manual Tester
Location: Chennai
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the development team, business analysts, and product owners to understand software requirements and design effective test strategies.
- Develop detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Execute manual tests to validate software functionality, usability, performance, and reliability.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems, and work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct root cause analysis of defects and provide inputs to prevent their recurrence.
- Participate in test plan and test case reviews to ensure adequate test coverage.
- Perform regression testing to ensure that software changes do not impact existing functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the testing process.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the testing process by identifying areas for automation, process enhancements, and best practices.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in manual testing methodologies and industry standards.
- Participate in knowledge sharing sessions to share testing insights and contribute to the overall improvement of the team’s testing capabilities.
- Provide accurate and timely test status reports, defect reports, and testing metrics to project stakeholders.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior testers to enhance their skills and knowledge in manual testing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2.5 – 11 years of experience as a Manual Tester or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge and experience in manual testing methodologies and best practices.
- Proficiency in test case development, execution, and defect management.
- Experience in functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with bug tracking systems and test management tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple testing tasks and deliver high-quality results within tight timelines.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in an agile development environment.
- Experience in the media and technology industry is a plus.
