Position: Manual Test Engineer
Location: Chennai, India
BAssure, a leading software testing and quality assurance company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Manual Test Engineer to join our team in Chennai. As a Manual Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our client’s products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual testing and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities:
- Understand and analyze product requirements and specifications.
- Develop and execute manual test cases based on the requirements.
- Conduct functional, regression, and system testing to ensure software quality.
- Identify and document software defects, bugs, and issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers, to resolve issues and ensure proper software functionality.
- Participate in test planning, test strategy, and test estimation activities.
- Execute test cases and track testing progress and results.
- Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Perform root cause analysis for failed test cases and provide detailed reports to stakeholders.
- Assist in creating and maintaining test environments and test data.
- Collaborate with automation testers to identify test cases suitable for automation.
- Continuously improve testing processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in software testing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Manual Test Engineer, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge and experience in manual testing methodologies and techniques.
- Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Experience in developing test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on requirements.
- Proficiency in executing test cases, tracking defects, and providing detailed defect reports.
- Good understanding of functional, regression, and system testing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, isolate, and reproduce software defects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of test management tools and defect tracking systems.
- ISTQB certification is a plus.
