Position: Mainframe Testing
Location: Pune
Responsibilities:
- Perform end-to-end testing of mainframe-based payment systems, with a specific focus on debit card and credit card domains.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to understand testing requirements and design test scenarios.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for mainframe applications.
- Conduct functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure system stability and compatibility.
- Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Participate in test estimation, test strategy formulation, and test effort planning.
- Perform test data preparation and test environment setup for mainframe testing.
- Analyze test results, generate test reports, and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to review test plans, test results, and communicate progress and risks effectively.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in mainframe testing.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the testing process, methodologies, and tools.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in mainframe testing.
- Strong knowledge and experience in testing mainframe-based payment systems, specifically in the debit card and credit card domains.
- Proficiency in mainframe testing tools, such as IBM Rational Functional Tester, IBM Rational Performance Tester, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
- Experience in test planning, test design, test execution, and defect management.
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks and scripting languages would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with payment industry standards, protocols, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
