As an API Tester at Experis, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications. Your responsibilities will include:
- API Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing of APIs to validate functionality, performance, security, and compatibility across different platforms.
- Test Case Design: Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and design detailed test cases that cover various API scenarios.
- Manual and Automation Testing: Utilize your expertise in both manual and automation testing to create, execute, and maintain test scripts and test suites.
- Tool Proficiency: Utilize tools such as Postman, SOAP UI, and other relevant testing tools to execute test cases, report defects, and track testing progress.
- Defect Reporting: Document and track defects using appropriate defect tracking tools, ensuring accurate and clear defect descriptions.
- Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing of APIs to identify bottlenecks, response times, and other performance-related issues.
- Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure that new developments and enhancements do not adversely impact existing functionalities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and quality assurance professionals, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Test Documentation: Maintain well-organized test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test results.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements, best practices, and methodologies related to API testing.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in API testing, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies and tools.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in API testing using tools like Postman, SOAP UI, and knowledge of JSON.
- Manual and Automation: Strong experience in both manual and automation testing of APIs.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to meticulously follow test cases.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate testing results.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and contribute positively to team dynamics.
- Location: This position is based in Thane, Mumbai. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to Mumbai.
