Position: Sr. QA Engineer
Location: Pune
Nectar Infotel, a leading technology company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Sr. QA Engineer with a strong background in ETL testing to join our team in Pune. As a Sr. QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and performance of ETL processes and data integration solutions. Responsibilities:
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate the accuracy, completeness, and performance of ETL processes and data integration solutions.
- Perform end-to-end testing of ETL workflows, including data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Validate data transformations, mappings, and business rules to ensure they are implemented correctly and meet the defined requirements.
- Identify, analyze, and report defects and issues found during testing, and work closely with developers and business stakeholders to resolve them.
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure the proper design and implementation of data quality checks, data validation rules, and exception handling mechanisms within the ETL processes.
- Conduct data profiling and data quality analysis to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and data integrity issues in source and target systems.
- Develop and maintain test data sets and test environments to simulate real-world scenarios and perform comprehensive testing.
- Document test results, test metrics, and test artifacts, and provide regular updates on testing progress and quality status.
- Participate in project meetings, requirement reviews, and design discussions to provide input from a testing perspective and ensure testability and quality considerations are addressed.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in ETL testing methodologies and tools.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in ETL testing, including testing of data integration processes and data warehouse solutions.
- Strong knowledge of ETL concepts, methodologies, and tools, such as Informatica, IBM DataStage, Talend, or similar.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and SQL.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries to validate data transformations, perform data comparisons, and verify data quality.
- Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems, such as JIRA, HP ALM, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data-related issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with business stakeholders, developers, and other testers.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles is a plus.
