As a QA Manager specializing in Database (DB) and ETL testing at Merkle, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our data integration processes. Key Responsibilities:

1. QA Management: Lead and manage a team of QA professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and oversight.
2. ETL Testing: Oversee and perform ETL testing to validate data accuracy, integrity, and adherence to transformation processes.
3. SQL Expertise: Utilize your strong SQL skills to write and execute complex queries for data validation and testing.
4. Scripting: Develop and maintain Unix shell scripts and Python scripts for automated testing.
5. Database Expertise: Work with various databases, including Snowflake, Redshift, Teradata, Oracle, and Big Query, to ensure data quality and performance.
6. ETL Tools: Utilize ETL tools like Talend, Informatica, or any other relevant tool to enhance testing processes.
7. Test Planning: Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project requirements and business logic.
8. Test Execution: Execute test cases, meticulously document test results, and identify and report defects or issues.
9. Data Validation: Ensure data completeness, correctness, and consistency across diverse data sources and targets.
10. Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure that changes or enhancements to ETL processes do not introduce defects.
11. Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing to evaluate the efficiency and scalability of ETL processes.
12. Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and business analysts, to understand requirements and address issues.
13. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and defects.
14. Defect Tracking: Manage the defect tracking process, prioritize defects, and ensure timely resolution.
15. Process Improvement: Continuously improve QA processes, adopt best practices, and explore new technologies to enhance testing efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8 to 14 years of proven experience in QA testing, with a focus on ETL and Database testing.
• Strong expertise in ETL testing, SQL, Python, and Unix shell scripting.
• Familiarity with databases like Snowflake, Redshift, Teradata, Oracle, and Big Query.
• Experience with ETL tools such as Talend, Informatica, or similar.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to drive excellence in QA testing.
