As an ETL Tester, your primary responsibilities will include:
- ETL Testing: Perform end-to-end testing of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with business requirements.
- DataMart Testing: Test DataMart structures and validate data transformations to ensure they meet the desired objectives.
- SQL Proficiency: Utilize SQL queries to extract and validate data, as well as identify discrepancies and anomalies.
- Test Planning: Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts that comprehensively cover ETL processes and DataMart structures.
- Data Validation: Verify the completeness and correctness of data by comparing source and target datasets.
- Defect Identification: Identify and document defects, issues, and deviations from established standards, working closely with the development team to resolve them.
- Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure that changes or enhancements do not adversely impact existing ETL processes.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and testing processes.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and business analysts, to understand data requirements and ensure data quality.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in ETL testing, with a strong focus on Data Warehouse (DWH) testing.
- ETL DWH Testing: Expertise in ETL DWH testing methodologies and best practices.
- DataMart Knowledge: Familiarity with DataMart structures and data modeling.
- SQL Skills: Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify data discrepancies and anomalies.
- Test Planning: Experience in test planning, test case development, and test execution.
- Regression Testing: Knowledge of regression testing principles and techniques.
- Communication: Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
