Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and business analysts, to understand ETL requirements and develop comprehensive test strategies.
  • Design, develop, and execute ETL test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios to validate the accuracy, completeness, and efficiency of data transformations and integrations.
  • Perform data validation, data quality checks, and data integrity tests to ensure that data is accurately loaded into the target systems, adhering to business rules and specifications.
  • Utilize SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and validate data from various data sources, including relational databases like PostgreSQL.
  • Utilize Azure technologies and tools to validate data integration and transformations within cloud-based ETL processes.
  • Collaborate with the development team to identify, document, and communicate defects and issues within the ETL processes, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of automated testing scripts and frameworks to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ETL testing processes.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to the development team to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and data stakeholders to understand data requirements, data sources, and expected outcomes, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot ETL jobs and processes to identify and resolve issues related to data quality, performance, and job failures.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in ETL testing methodologies, data processing, and cloud technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards, taking necessary precautions to protect sensitive data.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in software testing or data-related disciplines will be an advantage.
  • Proven experience as an ETL Tester or in a similar testing role, with a strong understanding of ETL processes and data transformations.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and validating data in relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly Azure, and experience with testing data integrations and transformations in cloud-based environments.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex data-related issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset, with a commitment to delivering accurate and high-quality results.
  • Experience with ETL testing tools and frameworks is a plus.
