Job Description:

We are looking for a Data Testing Engineer with expertise in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) testing using Databricks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data quality assurance and testing, with experience in working with large datasets and complex ETL processes. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of our data pipelines, helping our clients make data-driven decisions with confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. ETL Testing: Perform end-to-end testing of ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading using Databricks or similar tools.
2. Data Validation: Verify data accuracy, completeness, and consistency by comparing source and target data.
3. Test Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
4. Data Quality Assurance: Identify and report data quality issues, work with data engineers to resolve them, and ensure data integrity.
5. Performance Testing: Evaluate the performance of data pipelines and identify bottlenecks or areas for optimization.
6. Regression Testing: Conduct regression testing to ensure that changes to data pipelines do not introduce new issues.
7. Automation: Develop and maintain automated testing scripts for efficient and repeatable testing processes.
8. Documentation: Create comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
9. Collaboration: Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data quality.
10. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data testing and quality assurance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in ETL data testing, with a focus on Databricks or similar tools.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation and querying.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and databases.
• Experience with scripting languages like Python or Shell scripting is a plus.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a bonus.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
