Role Overview: Senior Automation Test Engineer

As a Senior Automation Test Engineer at Happyfox, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software solutions. Your expertise in Selenium automation testing, combined with your deep understanding of Agile methodologies, will drive the development and execution of effective testing strategies. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Selenium Automation: Develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, contributing to the creation of comprehensive test suites for functional, regression, and performance testing.
  2. Test Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test objectives, requirements, and success criteria. Design and execute test plans that align with the Agile software development methodology, whether using Kanban or Scrum.
  3. Test Execution: Execute automated and manual tests to validate software functionality, identify defects, and ensure adherence to quality standards. Conduct exploratory testing to uncover potential issues and provide insights for improvement.
  4. Defect Identification and Reporting: Utilize defect tracking tools to identify, document, and prioritize issues. Work closely with developers and other stakeholders to facilitate timely defect resolution.
  5. Agile Methodology: Apply your understanding of Agile principles to participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings. Contribute to the iterative development process and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  6. Test Environment Setup: Collaborate with DevOps teams to set up and maintain test environments, ensuring that testing conditions accurately reflect real-world scenarios.
  7. Collaboration and Communication: Effectively communicate test results, findings, and recommendations to cross-functional teams. Collaborate with developers, product managers, and quality assurance professionals to achieve high-quality software releases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in automation testing, with a strong focus on Selenium.
  • Proficiency in scripting and test automation using Selenium, with a track record of designing and implementing effective test scripts.
  • Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies (Kanban or Scrum) and the role of QA in the Agile process.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools, as well as version control systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose software defects.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software products.
