Position: QA Tester Experience: 7 to 9 years
Location: Chennai
Responsibilities:
As a QA Tester, your responsibilities will include:
- Manual Testing:
- Conduct manual testing activities to verify the functionality, performance, and usability of software applications.
- Create test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios based on business requirements and design specifications.
- Execute test cases and record test results to identify defects and ensure product quality.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Automation Testing:
- Utilize automation testing tools and frameworks to design and develop automated test scripts.
- Execute automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
- Continuously enhance and maintain automation scripts for regression testing and continuous integration.
- Test Planning and Strategy:
- Participate in test planning activities, including test estimation, test strategy development, and test scope definition.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify and prioritize testing objectives.
- Contribute to the creation of comprehensive test plans and test schedules.
- Defect Management:
- Identify, document, and track software defects using defect tracking tools.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify the source and impact of defects.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of defects.
- Test Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate test reports to communicate test progress, test coverage, and test results.
- Document test procedures, test data, and test environments for future reference.
- Ensure that testing artifacts are well-organized and easily accessible.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in software testing.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance overall quality assurance practices.
- Proactively suggest and implement process improvements for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in manual testing, including test case creation, execution, and defect management.
- Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks.
- Excellent knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
- Familiarity with agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
